Importance of Medical Chemistry
The Maharishi School of Pharmaceutical Sciences was established in 2019 by Maharishi University of Information Technology to set a new standard in pharmaceutical education. Professional teaching methods aim to provide students with a solid foundation and produce pharmacists who can apply their knowledge to benefit community health and the health-care business. We believe that bringing a professional touch to education requires finding a balance between academic and practical exposure. In this competitive era, it is the degree of exposure to diverse industrial operations, as well as the exposure to various industrial activities, that matters.
The Pharmacy Council of India in New Delhi approved the establishment of the Department of Pharmacy in 2019.The government of Uttar Pradesh has also recognised the university.
The Department has been a trailblazer in the field of pharmacy education, with highly qualified, experienced, and research-oriented academics.
It also awakens students’ innate abilities and potentials, resulting in highly prepared pharmacists who can serve in the pharmacy profession in the future both nationally and internationally.
Basic principles and advancements in pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, pharmacognosy, and phytomedicines, as well as scientific research updates, are covered in the B Pharm academic programme.
“Pharmacy is not just a career, but also a passion for saving the lives of hundreds of thousands of people around the world.”
Medicinal Chemistry:
Pharmacy students learn about pharmacological modes of action, structure-activity relationships (SAR), and physicochemical properties, and absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity (ADMET) profiles through medicinal chemistry.
A thorough understanding of the chemical foundation of medication action allows pharmacy students to rationally respond to “why” and “how” queries about drug action, and it distinguishes the pharmacist as the chemical expert among health care providers.
Medicinal chemistry plays an important role in teaching pharmacy students critical thinking and evidence-based problem-solving skills, allowing them to make the best patient-specific treatment decisions possible.
A medicinal chemistry person is well equipped in designing the drug molecule and checking its therapeutic activity, Hence in new drug discovery medicinal chemistry plays a vital role.
In industry also in research and development laboratory a medicinal chemist is there. Not only this in analytical R&D there is huge scope of medicinal chemistry
Pharmacy is a unique career that combines skill in drug manufacture, patient care, and ensuring safe and effective pharmaceutical use for better health and well-being.
LABS OF MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY:
The laboratory is very well furnished with high advances instrument that shows medicinal properties of compounds using machineries such as HPLC (Agilent), UV Spectrophotometer 1800 (Shimadzu) etc.
Students will learn how to analyse organic and inorganic compounds according to pharmacopoeial standards, as well as gain practical experience synthesising Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and other pharmaceutical ingredients.
Vision
To become a globally recognised teaching and research organisation in the field of pharmaceutical sciences, generating high-quality persons who will contribute to society’s well-being and the pharmaceutical industry’s expansion.
