Medicinal Chemistry | MUIT Lucknow
The study of medicinal Chemistry includes synthesizing and developing new chemical moieties with findings of their properties, i.e., physical, chemical, and pharmacological properties pointing out their possible therapeutic applications. This chemistry involves studying current moieties and associated drugs and their co-relation with pharmacological action with quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR). Pharmaceutical Chemistry also deals with the check of drug quality and their validation for the rationale of pharmaceutical products. Pharmaceutical chemistry involves the development, innovation, drawing, recognition of pharmacologically active moieties, and also the study of their ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) properties. Medicinal chemistry is an interdisciplinary area by definition, and practitioners must have a strong background in organic chemistry, as well as a thorough understanding of biology ideas linked to cellular drug targets.
